Network Administrator / Security Officer

Reed College seeks a Network Administrator/Security Officer to manage its campus network infrastructure and maintain network security. The Network Administrator designs and implements new network installations, and installs, manages and maintains network hardware and software. In addition, the Network Administrator serves as the IT Security Officer, sets and enforces network security policies, and monitors the network for security vulnerabilities and potential breaches.

Required: Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical experience. Experience installing, testing and maintaining network hardware and software, and designing new network installations. Experience monitoring network performance and troubleshooting network problems.  Required: Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications or relevant experience.  Desired: network security experience including policy and procedure development, network intrusion detection/prevention system management, and SANS GIAC and/or CISSP certifications or the ability to obtain them.

Instructional Technologist (2 positions)

Quantitative Applications
Work with faculty and students on the evaluation and effective use of quantitative technologies for teaching and learning in mathematics, social sciences, and natural sciences.

 Desired qualifications include: master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience) in a natural or social science discipline, mathematics, or a related field; demonstrated interest or experience in teaching with technology; proficiency in statistical packages, computational software, data visualization tools, and spatial analysis software; experience with both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.

Foreign Languages
Work with faculty and students on the evaluation and effective use of technologies to support foreign language teaching and learning. This is a half-time position that includes full benefits and the opportunity to be part of an ideal working environment on the beautiful Reed campus.

Desired qualifications include: master’s degree (or bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience) in a foreign language, educational technology, or a related field; demonstrated interest or experience in foreign language pedagogy, especially with respect to electronic resources; working knowledge of one or more of the languages taught at Reed (Chinese, French, German, Russian, Spanish); proficiency with both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
